Social Skills Group

Chatterfly’s social skills group program offers a supportive environment to build real-world social skills with other neurodiverse individuals of a similar age and ability level. Groups are led with a neurodiversity-affirming approach that respects each participant’s communication style while fostering an improvement in communication skills through individualized goals.

Most group sessions take place in the community — parks, coffee shops, malls, etc. The group curriculum addresses a variety of different skill areas through group discussions, exercises, and games.

The curriculum covers the following topics:

  • Building and maintaining relationships

  • Conflict resolution

  • Self-advocacy

  • Dating and intimacy

  • Gaining employment

  • Health and wellness

  • Digital literacy

  • Socially navigating the community

  • Volunteering and civic engagement
